Data Robotics has launched DroboCare, a full service protection plan for Drobo. DroboCare allows customers to extend hardware and software support for their Drobo and DroboShare (up to 3 years) for an additional $49 per year.

DroboCare provides me with additional hardware warranty for my Drobo.  Does this price also include software upgrades?

Feature enhancements that provide significant enhanced functionality for Drobo are included with your purchase of DroboCare. There are no additional fee’s or charges for those software upgrades while your Drobo is under warranty

Why is Data Robotics charging for extended software upgrades?

Due to strict accounting rules that govern a hardware manufacturer’s ability to provide feature or functionality enhancements, it is not possible to offer free software feature enhancements beyond the initial warranty period.  

All critical bug fixes WILL be offered as they become available, but non-standard feature enhancements can only be downloaded in association with a licensed DroboCare warranty extension package.

Do I have to pay for bug fixes?

Absolutely not!  Critical bug fixes will be offered as they become available just as they always have been.

I entered my DroboCare license key, but I received less than twelve months of additional support.

After you input your license key, if you receive less than twelve months of extended care please contact customer support.   Support will re-issue you a license key that will appropriately adjust your end date to coincide with your purchase date.  All you have to provide is proof of purchase.

I own a DroboShare.  Do I also need to purchase an additional warranty?

No.  While DroboShare comes with its own warranty, DroboShare is truly a companion for your Drobo.  With your purchase of DroboCare your DroboShare also receives the extended support that your Drobo receives.

What happens if I need support and I am out of warranty?

You can easily put your Drobo & DroboShare back into warranty by purchasing an out of warranty support contract.

It seems to be taking a long time to download my update.

At peak hours, download times can be slow, but we are working diligently to increase bandwidth to decrease download times.
